Vijaya Stambha

The Vijaya Stambha or "Victory Tower" is an imposing victory monument with a height of 37.19 metres located within Chittor Fort in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, India.

The tower was constructed by the Hindu Rajput king Rana Kumbha of Mewar in 1448 to commemorate his victory over the combined armies of Malwa and Gujarat sultanates led by Mahmud Khilji.

It is made with red sand stone and white marble.

The tower is dedicated to Hindu God Vishnu. The Vijaya Stambha is a remarkable example of religious pluralism practised by the Rajputs. The topmost storey features an image of the Jain Goddess, Padmavati.
