"Vennela" Kishore (born in 1977) is a software engineer turned actor who has made a name for himself in Telugu cinema as a comedian. His unassuming demeanor and dedication to his craft have endeared him to audiences.
Kishore's foray into acting commenced with Deva Katta's 2005 film "Vennela," shot in the U.S., marking his debut and earning him the moniker "Vennela."
The actor reflected in an interview, “I have no goals; I am happy with good food, working in and watching good films. On days that I get to work with Brahmanandam garu or Sathya, I am the happiest.”
He credits Padmasri & Guinness World Record holder for the most screen credits for a living actor, appearing in over 1000 films, Brahmanandam with emphasizing the importance of people-watching in honing his craft. He admires contemporaries like Sathya for their ability to weave humor from the mundane. He reveals that every month, comedy actors of Telugu cinema get together for a meetup and this gives them the scope to unwind and discuss life beyond work.
Despite his rapid success with 22 releases in 2022 and around 16 in 2023, Kishore remains grounded and mindful of the demanding nature of his profession. He dedicates long hours to shooting and dubbing, acknowledging the risk of burnout while expressing gratitude for the abundance of work opportunities.
When asked about his limited presence on social media, Kishore stated matter-of-factly: "I was spending seven to eight hours on social media per day. It got to a point where I would scroll in between reading a script." He credits reduced social media time with his increased focus on work.
While some comedians aspire for lead roles, Kishore is content in his niche as a comedian, preferring not to shoulder the responsibilities of a protagonist.
