Piyush Tewari

Piyush Tewari, (born 1980), is an Indian social entrepreneur dedicated to enhancing road safety, emergency medical care access, and urban governance throughout India. As the Founder and CEO of SaveLIFE Foundation, Tewari is renowned for his pivotal role in establishing a Good Samaritan Law in India.

Formerly an investment banker in New Delhi, Tewari's life took a dramatic turn following the tragic death of his 17-year-old cousin in a 2007 road accident. This personal loss inspired him to establish the SaveLIFE Foundation, aimed at aiding accident victims and promoting road safety.

Tewari's relentless efforts included media campaigns, parliamentary advocacy, and petitioning India's Supreme Court. His work culminated in a landmark 2016 Supreme Court decision that provides legal and financial protection to Good Samaritans assisting accident victims. This ruling is expected to significantly improve survival rates for accident victims across India.
