DOMS Industries offers a variety of stationery items, including pencils, erasers, sharpeners, geometry boxes, school bags, notebooks, and even baby hygiene products.
When DOMS entered India’s pencil market after registering its trademark in the mid-2000s, it was already home to big names like Hindustan Pencils, founded in 1958, which made Nataraj and Apsara household staples. Over time, kids started influencing buying decisions, and a single request for a brand could sway what retailers kept in stock.
In 2012, Italy’s FILA joined as a partner, boosting global reach and R&D. By FY23, its official share was 29 per cent and DOMS had become the second-largest brand in India’s market for stationery and art products.
Its stock is currently trading at nearly 60 times earnings, while peers like Flair and Linc are valued much lower at 20 and 18 times earnings, respectively.
