Savlon

Savlon is a well-known antibacterial personal care brand with products designed for first aid and skin care.

The active ingredients of Savlon antiseptic disinfectant liquid are cetrimide and chlorhexidine gluconate, which work together to cleanse wounds and prevent bacterial infections.

Savlon uses blind-friendly Braille labels or tactile markings on their packaging to improve accessibility for the visually impaired.

India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has proposed voluntary Braille labeling on medicine mono-cartons (especially for items like eye drops) and Braille cards in secondary packaging for bulk supplies.

Savlon is sold in many countries with different manufacturing and licensing agreements. In 1992, Johnson & Johnson acquired the Savlon OTC brands from ICI.  In 2015, Johnson & Johnson sold Indian rights to the Savlon and Shower To Shower brands to ITC Limited.
